Abstract: The ‘Issue Attention Cycle’ describes the growth and decline of issues. Widespread alarm about the environment was a distinctive aspect of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and has now diminished, yet support for the environmental movement remains strong. This article explores the current state of the environmental movement in Britain.
